Welcome to our first installment of sublimatrix: a Matrix of Destiny cipher. *internally squealing*

Today, I want to introduce you to the Matrix of Destiny energy and archetype of twenty-two (22).

I know what you’re thinking: “22??? Going in numeric order was right there.”

Yes, yes, I get that. And what could be more 22 energy than going out of the prescribed, expected order of things?

Because 22, my friends, is all about freedom.

And my goal here at sublimatrix is to empower your personal fluency in the Matrix of Destiny system. Instead of giving you static definitions to memorize, I hope to encourage you to find your own interpretations and connotations of these energies. (This is a very 9 tactic, btw, but we’ll get there eventually)

Caveat: This is my interpretation of Matrix of Destiny based heavily on the founder Natalia Ladini’s writing. I do not claim to be an expert in this methodology. Rather, I’m an intrepid explorer and researcher sitting alongside you. We’re studying together in the library of experience. I’m passing you silly love notes, and occasionally asking if I can copy off your answers, but mostly we’re working on decoding this group project together.

My perspective draws from:

• reading hundreds (maybe thousands?) of Matrix of Destiny charts since 2021

• taking multiple MoD courses, with various outcomes

• a lifelong obsession with archetypes

• ancient alchemy

• pop culture

• my previous knowledge of systems like astrology, Human Design, numerology, and Tarot de Marseille

• my study of somatics, particularly through Feldenkrais, Alexander, Klein, and Body Mind Centering techniques

• being a silly goofy girl

This is an experiential piece that attempts to immerse you in the essence of 22 energy; I’ve tried to do this in the way I’ve conceived of, structured, and written this chapter of sublimatrix.

There's something deliciously absurd about attempting to define freedom. The moment you try to pin it down, it slips through your fingers with all the reliability of my therapist's WiFi connection during a breakthrough moment. This energy isn't just about breaking free — it's about breaking free so completely that you create new definitions of freedom itself.

Honestly? The Numbers and Patterns girlies have been obsessed with 22 since ancient times. The Pythagoreans called it the "Master Builder" number, and of course, there are 22 main symbols in ancient alchemy. There are 22 archetypes in the major arcana, and 22 characters in the Hebrew alphabet. A most magical number, indeed.

Think of Tyler Durden in Fight Club — not the obnoxious dude-bro parts — but in that scene where he lets go of the wheel and asks "What do you want to do before you die?" It's not about the crash or the chaos. It's about the moment of choice, when everything becomes possible because nothing is guaranteed.

Or think of Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway buying flowers — not because she has to, but because she chooses to fill her world with beauty that will die. That's 22 energy, too — the freedom to create meaning precisely because nothing inherently means anything. If 22 were an emoji, it’d be 🤠
